1. Meenakshi Amman Temple

History: Built by the Pandya kings (6th century BCE) and expanded by the Nayak dynasty in the 16th–17th centuries.

Legend: Dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi (Parvati) and Sundareswarar (Shiva).

Architecture: 14 acres, 12 gopurams, tallest tower ~170 feet.
